Uvalde Foundation Joins Search for Missing Texas A&M Student Caleb Harris

The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending school violence, has announced its involvement in the search for 21-year-old Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi student Caleb Harris, who went missing in March. The foundation's decision to lend its resources and expertise to the ongoing investigation has sparked renewed hope in the community, as they work tirelessly to uncover the truth and provide closure for Caleb's family.

Unwavering Commitment to Finding Answers

Mobilizing a Special Team of Volunteers

The Uvalde Foundation For Kids has assembled a team of dedicated volunteers from its STOPNOW school community patrol teams in Dallas, San Antonio, and Bell County to aid in the search for Caleb Harris. This specialized team will leverage their resources and expertise to assist the ongoing investigation, driven by the belief that no effort should be spared in the pursuit of answers."Now is not the time to end the search for this young man," said James Earle, team director for the Uvalde Foundation For Kids STOPNOW Patrol. "If anything, it should give a renewed hope that persistence and dedication can bring answers, even those we do not wish to hear."

Unwavering Commitment to the Community

The Uvalde Foundation For Kids has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the community, particularly in the aftermath of the devastating Robb Elementary School massacre in 2022. Their decision to join the search for Caleb Harris is a testament to their dedication to supporting families and individuals in times of crisis, regardless of the circumstances."In this case, until the community knows otherwise, we are urging those joining efforts to locate Caleb to stay the course," Earle continued. "Our foundation will utilize all our resources to aide at this time. Caleb deserves that."

Navigating the Complexities of the Investigation

The involvement of the Uvalde Foundation For Kids comes at a critical juncture in the investigation, as the Corpus Christi Police Department has reported the discovery of human remains in a wastewater collection point near Caleb's apartment. While the remains have not yet been positively identified, the foundation's participation in the search efforts is a testament to their determination to uncover the truth and provide closure for Caleb's family."The foundation's involvement comes after the Corpus Christi Police Department said that on June 24, a city employee found human remains in a 40-foot-deep wastewater collection point that was reportedly near Harris' apartment," the article states.

Awaiting Definitive Identification

As the investigation continues, the Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed that the discovered remains "bore no obvious signs of homicide" and were "unable to make an identification, nor provide a manner or cause of death." The remains have been sent to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification for further DNA analysis, a process that could take several weeks according to city officials."As of July 3, TV station WOAI reported that, according to city officials, identification of the remains found last month could require weeks," the article notes.

Caleb Harris' Disappearance

Caleb Harris was last seen on March 4 near his apartment complex around 3 a.m. in the 1900 block of Ennis Joslin Road, near the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi campus. His father, Randy Harris, reported that Caleb had left behind his ID and car keys, and that his phone was dead by 3 o'clock that morning."He was totally gone," Randy told KIII at the time. "He doesn't have his wallet. He doesn't have any identification on him."The Uvalde Foundation For Kids' involvement in the search for Caleb Harris has brought renewed hope and determination to the community, as they work tirelessly to uncover the truth and provide closure for the family. Their unwavering commitment to supporting individuals and families in times of crisis is a testament to their dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of those they serve.
